Plans in Progress
We are still in the early stages of planning this event, but I want share where we are in the planning process. So anything in the post can change in the future and I will disavow all knowledge of it. ;-)
The people who are helping organize the event are Rachel Luxemburg (Adobe Groups Manager Developer Relations), Adam Lehman (Adobe Product Manager), and Luke Kilpatrick (preDevCamp).
DATE and TIME
The event will be Saturday November 7th, 2009 from 9:30am to 7:30pm at the Adobe Office at 601 Townsend St in San Francisco.
VISION
A gathering of people passionate about learning through collaboration. Attendees will work in small teams to code projects ideas from the team members or from a suggested list of projects. This will not be a lecture style event or a traditional classroom with a set curriculum and learning materials.
MISSION
To introduce ColdFusion to other programmers, designers and those new to programming.
ATTENDEES
Our goal is to introduce ColdFusion to those who are new to the language. We want programmers with little or no ColdFusion experience, graphic designers and new programmers who may have little to no programming experience but are excited to learn, ask questions and bang out a little code. Of course, if you know ColdFusion we want you there as a mentor. See the next section.
MENTORS
We are reaching out to the ColdFusion Community and asking ColdFusion Developers to come be a mentor for the day.
BYOL (Bring your own laptop) and be ready to hit the ground running. We will include instructions to download and install ColdFusion 9 Beta and ColdFusion Builder Beta prior to the event. We will have mentors at the event an hour before it begins to assist those who have trouble configuring ColdFusion. Again no ColdFusion experience is required.
